Broward Women's Chorus Wants You!

Come sing with us! Broward Women’s Chorus is seeking new members to join us and help make our music shine. Choral experience and reading music are a plus, but most important are your love of singing, camaraderie and commitment. We rehearse from 10 am. to noon on Wednesday mornings, September through mid-May, at Sunshine Cathedral in Fort Lauderdale.

Join us on Wednesday, September 9, for a meet-and-greet and a chance to sing with us.

Our Mission

The Broward Women’s Chorus enriches the cultural lives of the residents of Greater Broward County through choral performances
that bring joy to its audiences and inspire the dedicated and talented members of the choral group.

Our Vision

The Broward Women’s Chorus will bring joy, beauty, musical excellence, and artistic quality to its performances for audiences in Greater Broward County.

The Broward Women’s Chorus consists of about 40 energetic women who love to sing and entertain. We learn, rehearse and perform a medley of songs for December holiday concerts and prepare a different program for our spring shows. At our performances, it is exciting to be welcomed and treated as stars by the appreciative audiences at libraries, assisted living facilities, special events, and many other locations.

BWC is a non-profit organization and members are volunteers. Our choral director, Birgit Djupedal, is a professional opera singer and voice teacher who truly makes it all fun!

The experience and backgrounds of members vary. Some have not sung since high school glee club; others have been regulars in church choirs and other choral groups. We sing together and support one another; many of us joined the chorus because we loved to sing, and pretty soon we had a group of new best friends.

Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from September to May at Sunshine Cathedral, 1480 SW 9th Ave, Fort Lauderdale. If you think you might be interested in joining BWC, please come and sing with us!
